How should I prepare for a session?

Come dressed in clothes you can move in.  This work is mainly clothed due to the real possibility that you will be placed in many different positions to access muscles.  Clothing that you can move in yet keeps you covered is important.  Workout clothing is great.

Good hygiene is appreciated.  Sometimes, such as if we are meeting at a competition or workout studio, we have to work with what we got and that is not a problem.

Will this fix me?

Massage Therapy is not a switch to turn on and instantly expect change.  While a good amount of relief can be felt each session, massage is just one lever to pull when seeking lasting relief.  It took years to get the postures and disfunction into the body, it will take regular session to help it leave the body.  Also, some injuries and conditions require collaboration with a doctor to ensure positive results.  We are a TEAM for your pain relief.

Diagnosis of injury or condition from a qualified healthcare professional is always preferred to ensure positive results.  If you have any paperwork from your doctor please bring it in.

While preferred, a diagnosis is not necessarily for our first appointment.  During our initial assessment we will discuss your pain and explore many avenues, including massage, that could help bring relief.   Please email me the details ahead of time or bring all paperwork from the doctor or healthcare provider to the appointment.  The more information the better to help you!

Homework, really?

How often should I receive bodywork?

Yes indeed.  The body will adapt to the stress put upon it.  This includes good stress such as massage, working out, diet, etc. The more intense the stress the faster the body adapts.  Being my client means we are a team for your pain relief.  By doing homework such as stretching, ergonomics, yoga, working out, following doctor advice, etc.  We intensify the good stress on the body and see results faster.

That would depend on your unique situation.  For instance, let's say a client's situation is more intense and needs a lot of work to get the ball rolling.  Then, they may need 1-3 sessions a week for a month or two.  Next, we'll move to a session ever week or two.  We will ween down to the end goal of a monthly maintenance session.

Where a client falls on this timeline, and how quickly they move through to a maintenance session, depends on their situation and implementing the homework.

I LOVE TO TRAVEL!!

I am currently based in Dallas, Tx.

Due to current regulations in the massage therapy field, I am limited to all of Texas and all of California.

If you would like me to come to your town or event outside of Dallas, I am willing to come for a minimum of 5 sessions, plus travel expenses.

Contact me and we can discuss this exciting opportunity.

YES! and no.  I also work for Source1 Physical Therapy and I can accept most insurance there.  They are a separate company from my private practice.

Here at Massage 4 Real Life (my private practice) unfortunately I am not currently taking insurance.  I am open to helping you get reimbursed on your FSA or HSA.
